Today was information overload. I am really enjoying the learning but I found the pace a little bit overwhelming today and got frustrated with the technology. I am starting to connect some of the dots in terms of the genesis of Manaiakalani with the presentation from Lenva Shearing this morning. Interesting to hear about the different types of schools engaging on this journey with Manaiakalani.
Feel like I'm learning more tips and tricks about gmail, calendar and new learning with google keep was valuable. I can definitely see me implementing these within my mahi at kura. Even navigating my way around my own computer has improved. Sometimes we only use a fraction of the capabilities of the resources we have so this intensive approach has pushed me outside my comfort zone in a positive sense.
The big challenge for me today was with hangout and putting this learning into action. Repeatedly followed the steps to discover that the recording did not happen because we all had our headphones plugged in so nothing was recorded. Won't make that mistake again.
Overall today was definitely significant for me in terms of new ways to manage my workload. I can see myself engaging and using all of the tools in my mahi both within and outside of the class. I'm keen to have a go and use these because it will help me to be more efficient in my work output.
Kia ora Christine,
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear the DFI is pushing you outside your comfort zone in a positive way. Yes, managing workload... anything that works, why not do it, is my thinking.
I look forward to hearing what changes you make and what is most beneficial.
Ngā mihi,
Maria
Kia ora Christine,
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel about the amount in each day. It can be overwhelming. What you do have though is rewindable learning with access to the agenda and all the links should you need it.
Hangouts might become very important to us in the close future with #remotelearning a possibility.
It was great working with you in day #2.
